Choose your feelings!

“The time has come,” the Walrus said, “to talk of many things:
Of shoes–and ships–and sealing-wax– of cabbages–and kings–
And why the sea is boiling hot– and whether pigs have wings.”    Lewis Carroll

Well, it might be the time to talk of many things and shoes are always an interesting topic – but right now I don’t have time to talk and the feelings of overwhelm are beginning to rise.  For, the time has come for me to do many things, and really it would be great if I could do them all at once!

Even though we know women have the skills and talents to multi-task and to do all that has to be done – seemingly at once. Right now, for me that would be neigh impossible.Keep Calm Priorities

Where does one start when there is so much to be done that it makes one dizzy?  I’m sure it won’t be a surprise to you to know that this ‘one’ makes tea and makes a list of priorities. My list looks like this:  write blogs; talks; workshops; and The Book  (in bold because it should be at the top of the list) and then there is the sewing!

Did you know that I ‘sew’? I started making my own clothes when I was about 14 and have sewed ever since. I don’t do a lot of sewing these days however my sewing machines are coming out of the cupboard more frequently than they used to.  My daughter is convinced I should give lessons – but that’s a blog for another day perhaps?

I’ve taken on some sewing alternations for a neighbour and a very young friend has asked me to fix her doll.  So these are on the list too.

How does one prioritize the list?  By time.  What is urgent: what is important?  For me, Time pays the piper and calls the tune.  Prioritise by time.  What needs to be done first?

There is no doubt – the doll must be returned to my young friend as soon as possible for it’s her ‘comfort blanket’: the neighbours alterations come next – oh, no – this blog needs to be next and the write ups for the website.  I didn’t even consider the other things on the list – the pressure of doing it all now is paramount: overwhelm could easily turn to panic.

Do you know that when you get things into priority, you can guarantee that you will achieve them – 100%?  When we decide on the top priority, and set our intention with enthusiasm and joy, and focus on it with singularity of purpose, the Universe (nowadays known as the Law of Attraction) responds, opening doors that we didn’t know existed and life flows smoothly.

We can control how we feel because we can choose our thoughts.  Most people think that their only option is to respond to circumstances and often attempt the impossible: that is, to control the circumstances of life themselves.  This leads to feelings of frustration and overwhelm.

Choose how you want to feel: choose your thoughts and you choose vibration. When you control your vibration you control everything that has anything to do you with.
