3 Ways To Find Your Higher Purpose

Whether you know it or not, you do have a higher purpose,  We all do and its been calling you for years.

What is Higher Purpose?

To me it means walking our soul’s path.  However, this is a bit nondescript and not very helpful at all. It annoys me when people say things like “just be more of who you are”!  What does that mean?  I like definitive answers!

From my 35 years of spiritual study, I’ve come to believe that our souls are pure love and already know all there is to know.  I don’t believe we came to earth so our souls could learn things but I do believe that we come to earth so we (and are souls) can experience (and evolve) an aspect of love.

To sum it up – I believe that we’ve come to earth is to express our unique and special gifts and talents through our personality to create joy in our lives and to so we can make a difference in the world.

But that’s not terribly helpful either, is it?

What is your dream?

The answer could lie in your dreams.

And I don’t mean the Disneyland dream when you lie on the sofa and imagine lying on the beach drinking Pina Coladas. That would be good for a couple of days, but you’d be bored by Wednesday!

I mean the real dream: the dream where you’re living a fulfilling life that’s rich with love and deep with meaning; living a life that makes a difference to others.  Now, that makes sense. But how to do find that one path?

You listen to the whispers.
Here are 3 different ways that you can hear the wishers and find your higher purpose.

  1. Your childhood dreams hold the whisper of higher purpose.

Go back to your early childhood and remember what you loved to do in your early years, or even perhaps in your teenage years.  What did you imagine yourself doing when you were grown up?
I always imagined myself singing on stage.  (You’ll be glad to know that hasn’t happened, because I really can’t sing).

But the essence is there in my dream.  It’s publically sharing information. Sometimes I do stand on a stage and give talks and presentations but mostly now I use the ‘global stage’ of the internet.

You could find the essence of your higher purpose in your childhood dreams.

  1. The other side of fear.

If you’d love to do something but you’re not doing it, ask yourself why.

If you really, really want to do something and you’re not doing it – that surely is the call of your soul.

If you get so far as working with others who are doing what you want to do, but you still don’t do it – that is the call of your soul and you definitely need ask yourself why you’re not doing it.

Fear is stopping you walking the path of your soul.  You are resisting the most important thing in your life – because it’s too big and too scary to even think about, let alone do!

“Feel the fear and do it anyway” they say.  I’m not a great believer in that.  I think all our negative feelings should be healed, then they just fade away until they don’t exist.

I’ve used the Bach Flower Remedies to heal my negative emotions (the whole range of feelings) for over 30 years and found my soul through their use.

However you chose to understand, overcome or release your fears, will open you up to seeing opportunities and possibilities that will lead you to your higher purpose.
Solving a problem.

You were excited when you discovered the Law of Attraction because you were told it could solve all your problems.  It gave you hope that you could change your external world.

And I’m sure by now you’ve discovered that to create what you want in life, you’re the one that has to change.

Ssshhh! Here’s the best kept secret ever – the Law of Attraction (or creating your dream) is actually a journey of self-discovery and personal growth.  Along your journey, as you heal your wounds, the voice of negativity goes quiet and you can hear the whisper of the call of your soul.

The process of wanting to get to the other side of the problem can introduce you to your higher purpose.

Finding your higher purpose starts with doing what you love to do and personal growth.  I have several programmes that can guide you to finding your soul purpose:  The Bach Flower Course. This is an unusual path of personal growth and an even more unusual way (but a really profound way to ignite your soul fire).   And Mind-Shift-Life-Shift: a membership site that has monthly training and other tools available to guide you on your way.
